First Labour budget set for 30th October 2024

Posted 30/07/2024

It has been confirmed by the Chancellor that the first Labour budget will be held on Wednesday 30th October 2024.

The Chancellor, Rachel Reeves, has stressed that Labour would not increase income tax, national insurance & VAT.

However, this does leave open potential changes to capital gains tax, inheritance tax & pension tax.

Draft legislation has also been published to abolish the furnished holiday lettings (FHL) tax regime , meaning that this is still going ahead from April 2025.
