Support for Businesses – Local Restrictions Support Grant (LRSG) & Additional Restrictions Grant (ARG)
Posted 18/11/2020
Additional support may currently be available for businesses affected by Covid 19 restrictions.
Businesses who have had to close during the second lockdown may be eligible for the LRSG (Closed) or the ARG.
The LRSG (Closed) will provide a grant of up to £3,000.00 per 28 days, based on the rateable value of each property.
A business needs to be closed for a minimum of 14 days to apply.
The ARG provides local councils with grant funding to support closed businesses that do not directly pay business rates as well as businesses that do not have to close but which are impacted.
In addition, larger grants can be given than those made through LRSG (Closed).
The Government expects the funding to help those businesses which – while not legally forced to close – are nonetheless severely impacted by the restrictions.
The LRSG (Open) supports businesses that have been severely impacted due to temporary local restrictions.
Businesses that have not had to close but which have been severely impacted due to local restrictions (Local COVID alert levels: High or Very High) may be eligible for LRSG (Open).
The grant will provide a payment of up to £2,100.00 per 28 days, based on the rateable value of each property.
Applications for the grants will be made directly through your Local Authority, their Website may provide you with further information.
